Dr. Catherine Aczel Boivie, ICD.D is a widely respected Executive with more than 20 years of experience in the leadership of information technology, most recently as Senior Vice President of Information Technology and Facility Management for Vancity, (Canada’s largest credit union) and CEO of Vancity’s subsidiary, Inventure Solutions.

She serves on several boards, including those of Insurance Corporation of B.C. (ICBC), Certified General Accountants Association of Canada and Burnaby Board of Trade, and is the Founding President of the Chief Information Officers Association of Canada (CIOCAN). Catherine has a strong understanding of Board Governance and Oversight and received the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Dr. Boivie is the recipient of the University of Waterloo Faculty of Mathematics Alumni Achievement Medal, named one of Canada’s top 100 most powerful women in 2009 and 2011 by the Women’s Executive Network in the “Trailblazers and Trendsetters” category as well as the recipient of the 2008 Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance – Chief Information Officers (CIO) Leadership Award.

Dr. Catherine Aczel Boivie was recently also awarded a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. Dr. Boivie is a member of the ICTC board, the CEO and Chair of CanWIT (Canadian Women in Technology) and Executive in Residence at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. In addition to the ICTC, she is also on the boards of the Insurance Corporation of BC , CGA Canada, Burnaby Board of Trade, the Arts club Theatre Company and is the Founding President of the CIO Association of Canada.
